PAINT IT BLACK ART MEMBERSHIP
PiBA members pay a non-refundable basic materials fee of $110 that covers all basic materials used during the school year (September to May), pro-rated after October 1st. The basic materials fee does not include materials required for special classes, which are charged separately.
Members can attend any scheduled class (space permitting) and also receive discounts for special classes or for friends or relatives that want to try a class.
Note that December 31st is the cut-off date for membership. Those who fail to pay the fee by that date will be required to pay the non-member rate for classes taken during the remainder of the school year.
PAYMENT POLICIES
Class Rates: Standard class rates for the 2024-2025 school year are $25/class for PiBA members and $35/class for non-members.
Paying for Classes: Members and non-members are to pay in advance for each month of classes, but may attend additional classes during that month, space permitting. Those who are signed up for classes but fail to make payment in advance will incur an additional surcharge of $10.00 per class, regardless of PiBA membership status.
Parents are responsible for paying all amounts due for classes attended by their children. If we are billing a homeschool network or charter school, parents remain ultimately responsible for any unpaid invoices.
Payment methods: Venmo, cash, or check.
Pop-In Classes: Members and non-members may attend a scheduled class if space is available (please inquire). PiBA members who attend regular classes will not be charged an extra materials fee. Payment is expected prior to the start of the class.
Special Classes and Art Excursions: Special classes and art excursions are billed separately. Payment is expected prior to the commencement of the special class or field trip.
Additional Fees: $10.00/half hour for extended classes or late pickups.
ATTENDANCE POLICIES
No-Shows and Cancellations: Class space is limited, and all artists are expected to attend the classes they signed up for. Those who fail to do so, for whatever reason, have taken up a spot that another artist would have gladly taken. For that reason, artists who fail to attend a scheduled class will be charged for that class. Classes missed for personal reasons, injury, or illness are not pro-rated or credited, except for PiBA members who provide advance notice may attend a make-up class, as discussed below.
Make-Up Class Policy: PiBA members who provide at least seven (7) days advance notice for any class they will be unable to attend are entitled to attend a make-up class (space permitting) within thirty (30) days of the missed class at no additional charge. In all other cases, make-up class availability is at the sole discretion of PiBA.
Make-up classes may only be scheduled after a missed class and within 30 days of the missed class. Only two (2) make-up classes are permitted for each artist during any 30-day time period, unless special arrangements are made in advance, at the sole discretion of PiBA. Make-up classes that are not scheduled within 30 days, or that are not attended, will be forfeited.
DISCLOSURES
The human figure has been portrayed in art since the dawn of time. Artistic interpretations of human figures, both male and female, clothed and unclothed, are displayed in museums, sculpture galleries, and historical sites, and are reproduced in art books, including those in our studio, which students are encouraged to peruse for educational purposes. Please be advised that your child may encounter nude images while perusing these books. While these images are not pornographic, some parents may consider them inappropriate. You are welcome to view any and all books in the studio at any time.
